Argus™ thermal imaging cameras
Thermal Imaging Just got Hotter - The new lighter, robust Argus™4
The new Argus™4 camera takes thermal imaging usability to a new level. At half the weight of previous Argus cameras and ergonomically designed body, this little camera provides practical usability without compromising comfort, safety and durability.
Practical and Intelligent
Not only is it compact, it is also capable with a x2 zoom, storage for up to 100 images and spot and ambient temperature measurements as standard features. In addition it has a 16 colour screen display option as well as the ability to customise the camera settings to a fire fighter’s own personal preference.
Rugged
To ensure it can withstand the tough environments fire fighters have to operate in, the Argus™4 has a ruggedised quality Radel casing. It was specially chosen because of its strength, resistance to heat, water and impact. It can also withstand driving spray and short-term immersion in water to a depth of 1 metre – as well as survive a 2 metre drop test and naturally tolerate high temperatures - it really is a tough little camera.
Related Applications
Fire
Thermal imaging cameras are invaluable tools for firefighters, enabling them to see through the thickest smoke and darkness, identify liquids in Hazmat situations and assess wildfire situation to provide a clear picture of the scene that is not available to the naked eye.
Object that are giving off some degree of heat emit long wavelength infrared radiation, which thermal imaging cameras convert into a visible light picture on the camera screen. This picture can be presented either in black and white or in various colourations, enabling firefighters to see clearly the degree of heat emitted by objects around them. Argus® cameras help save critical seconds in scene assessment by rapidly identifying the source and spread of a fire in scene assessment, and quickly and accurately locating casualties in burning buildings, ships or planes.
Complemented by e2v' REDS (Radio Evacuation Distress System), which provides firefighters with a vital two-way radio communications facility in (potentially) dangerous situations, today's firefighter is well equipped to perform with maximum efficiency.
